My name is Lauren Railsback and I run Splash 'N Dash Aussies where I raise, compete and occasionally may produce a litter of Australian Shepherds. Splash 'N Dash is currently located in Mililani, Hawaii. I have been involved in the breed for over 15 years and have done extensive research before planning my first litter. Graduating from Western Kentucky University with a degree in animal science gave me the opportunity to take classes such as animal nutrition, reproduction, and anatomy/pathology giving me a great start in my research to become a dog breeder! I find topics involving animal nutrition, behavior, etc very interesting and important in raising dogs for sports, herding, breeding, or pets. I strive to keep up to date on current reputable information to provide here to future puppy buyers.
What are we breeding for?
The dogs of Splash 'N Dash are firstly companions and performance teammates. We will primarily be breeding to produce future performance prospects to stay here at Splash 'N Dash aussies. That said I will occasionally have litters available. I mainly am striving to produce versatile dogs with the capabilities to compete in multiple venues such as herding, agility, dock diving, disc etc. I have a preforance for working line aussies and beleive this breed should be capable of doing what they were originally bred to do; working livestock with a strong herding instinct. I will be breeding for ideal temperament and expect the dogs to be people oriented, biddable, and stable minded. I expect all dogs to pass Canine Good Citizen Advanced titles before breeding to prove they have the temperament to behave in public situations. Lastly, I breed for health and will only breed dogs tested through a reputable lab for genetic diseases, eyes cleared through CERF annually, and hips/elbows certified through OFA. All dogs will be registered with ASCA and AKC, which are the two most respected and reputable registries for this breed.
