Bindi comes from Rafter J, a working cattle ranch in Texas, that has produced many successful working dogs. Her pedigree is full of strong working lines including Slash V and H Cross. Bindi has been a fun dog to train with a very biddable temperament. She has a high food drive, high tug drive, high prey drive. She is a high energy dog always ready for whatever job is asked of her but has a great off switch at home. Her sweet personality to people makes her instantly loved when out in public. As she just received her AKC registration in January of 2019, we are just beginning AKC trials. She has been training in agility, rally, obedience, barn hunt, herding, tricks, nosework, and parkour and will be working towards titles as soon as venues are available! She has had a great natural instinct for working stock since a young puppy and has been training on sheep with the goal to trial in the future.
Agility
Bindi's speed and accuracy on the agility course make her a great competitor and teammate in the sport! She has just begun her trialing career in late 2018 and is a dog I am very excited about! She has competed in three trials so far, quickly moving up into level 3 in most of the CPE games and is beginning level 5 in CPE Jumpers at her next trial. She has a natural ability to read her handlers body language and cues and quickly catches on to new handling. This little dog is very confident on equipment having no issues with new surfaces or movement. Her high food and tug drive combined with her strong will to please and athletic ability makes her an ideal agility partner and I can't wait to see what she accomplishes in the future.
Tricks
Bindi is a fun dog that loves problem solving and figuring out knew tricks! She excels at clicker/shaping training and her high food drive helps her get new tricks down easily. She has currently earned her TKN, TKI, TKA, and TKP titles (ten tricks per title)!
Rally
Bindi's first trial was at the Kentuckiana Cluster of Events dog show. This is one of the largest dog shows in the country with nearly 4000 dogs entered in events! Although we hadn't taken any Rally classes we decided to give it a try! Bindi wasn't at all distracted with everything going on and paid 100% attention to me in the ring and ended up taking first place in all three trials with scores of 99/100, 98/100, and 90/100 earning her Rally Novice title! 6 months later we decided to start training in Rally again and quickly entered a Rally Advanced trial taking 1st place with a 95/100 and earning her Rally Advanced title the following week! Bindi loves learning new Rally signs and although Covid shut downs slowed us down on trials she has learned all of her Excellent and Masters signs so is ready to jump back into it!
